Mythical Tales: Goddess Archetypes + Rituals

  • Abide Yoga 13001 Larchmere Blvd Shaker Heights (map)

Join us for a behind the scenes tour of the stories behind the yoga poses! In this workshop we’ll dive into the mythical tales of the Hindu Goddesses and use them as a mirror to discover more about our own hearts. Myths are like prisms, reflecting us back to ourselves and providing meaningful clues to help us through challenging moments in our lives. Lakshmi, Sarsaswati, Radha and the gang are just like us – they go through heartache, they experience challenges and fears, they doubt. We’ll use their stories to make sense of our own stories, and to really embody the myths we’ll combine them with mudras (sacred hand gestures that inspire specific states of consciousness). The class will end with a Kali Puja, which is an ancient ritual designed to ready us for deep transformation and liberation. No asana. All humans welcome, no yoga or mythology experience necessary.

About Kelly:

Always on the hunt for some deep connection with the invisible forces of magic and spirit, Kelly studied Eastern philosophy and politics in DC, hiked the Appalachian Train, traveled the world, and worked as a stylist in the NYC fashion and music business. When she found yoga she saw it as the confluence of everything she valued and longed for – creation and form, connection to the magical unknown, the fusing of the sacred and the everyday.  She opened a studio in Goshen NY in 2006 and sold it a couple of years ago, and now teaches workshops, festivals and teacher trainings all over the globe.
